Designed for laboratory use, this is a variable heat control, ceramic top heater. The heat is generated from resistant coils recessed into the ceramic top. It also comes with a removable ceramic top plate especially designed for round bottom flasks.  Features:

From our in-house testing, we have found this versatile hot plate to be a good low-price alternative for those who do not wish to invest in a $250 Heating Mantle.  Using the round-bottom ceramic adaptor, we brought 500ml of water to a boil in 14 minutes for a simple distillation procedure.   A 5" support ring was able to securely support this compact and efficient heater.

Please note:  This heater is designed for quick and rapid heating.  The variable temperatrue adjustment is limited.  If you need finely adjustable temperature settings we recommend our digital magnetic stirrers.
